Originating from the small Silence Festival founded in 2010, Arts Organisation Silence (Taideorganisaatio Hiljaisuus) has evolved into an exceptional operator within Finland’s discretionary-grant-funded art field. What sets Silence apart is the sheer scope of its multi-arts activities, its structural organisational thinking, and its distinctive northern location in Lapland.

WHAT?

Based in the Northern village of Kaukonen- Kittilä, Arts Organisation Silence is a vibrant hub for contemporary art and development. Rooted in the dynamic intersection of contemporary circus and music, we curate events, residency activities, and multidisciplinary productions. Alongside our artistic core, we provide expert services, lead regional development projects, and build innovative partnerships with businesses- championing the power and possibilities of art across society.
