Tämä esitys on taikuutta puhtaimmillaan; yksi taikuri ja yksi temppu. Samalla esitys rikkoo taikuuden sääntöjä ja kyseenalaistaa koko taikuuden salamyhkäisyyden. 

The Trick That Cannot Be Explained on taikatemppu, jota ei voi selittää. Tämä korttitemppu muuttuu joka kerta sitä esittäessä ja perustuu pitkälti improvisaatioon. Temppua on verrattu improvisoituun jazziin. Taikuri tietää tempun nuotit, mutta ei lopputulosta. Todellinen temppu onkin oikeastaan se, että taikuri saa sattuman vaikuttamaan ennakkoon suunnitellulta.

Yksi taikurien klassisista säännöistä on, että temppua ei tulisi toistaa samalla yleisölle. Myöskään ei saisi kertoa tempun salaisuutta. Rikkomalla näitä sääntöjä, toivomme yleisön näkevän performanssin ajan taikuuden hieman erilaisesta näkökulmasta, kenties osaten arvostaa sekä efektiä että metodia.

Teoksen on ohjannut suomalainen taikuri ja kuvataiteilija Kalle Nio. Esityksen taikuudesta vastaa taikuri Miika Pelkonen.

The Trick That Cannot Be Explained is a magic performance by a magician who repeats a magic trick. This trick is impossible to explain the trick since it’s based on luck and improvisation. The trick has been compared to improvised jazz. The magician knows the instrument, but is creating the song as he’s playing. 

One of the classical rules of magic is that you shouldn’t perform the same trick to the same audience twice. Also you shouldn’t tell the secrets. By breaking these rules, we hope that during the performance the audience can see the magic from a little different angle, perhaps knowing how to appreciate both the effect and the method.

The performance is directed by a Finnish magician and visual artists Kalle Nio and performed by Miika Pelkonen.
