Sirkusteltan iltakonsertti Me olemme kiviä asettuu maailman laidalle, ei etäälle, vaan juuri sinne, missä me olemme. Mantereen reunalle, taivaanrantaan, kesän kynnykselle, herkkyden ja voiman väliin. Musiikin ja sirkustaiteen dialogiin.
Konsertissa kuullaan skotlantilaisen Lisa Robertsonin uuden teoksen air an oir (2026) kantaesitys. Hiljaisuus-festivaalin tilaaman teoksen nimi on gaelinkielinen ja tarkoittaa “reunalla”. Teos asettaa kuulijansa maailman pohjoisreunalle. Teoksesta huokuu pohjoinen luonto ja perinteisten elämänmuotojen ja kulttuurien rauhanomainen vastarinta juuri siellä, missä olemme.
Sirkustaiteilija Noémie Deumié kehollistaa konsertin dramaturgian. Jännitteiden ja vapauttamisen vaihtelu kietoo konserttiyleisön yhteiseen kokemukseen. Sirkusteltan yhteen tuova luonne saa konserttisalina uudenlaisia merkityksiä.
Me olemme kiviä on ainutkertainen monitaiteinen konsertti. Vain tämän kerran. Aika kulkee niin hitaasti, että tunnistamme pysyvyyden ja niin vääjäämättömästi, ettei mikään ole enää sama. Iltakonsertti sirkusteltassa on yhdistelmä sirkuksen ja musiikin traditioita sekä aikamme taiteen radikaalia raikkautta. Konserttiohjelma rakentuu uuden musiikin järkäleistä sekä uudesta kantaesityksestä.

The evening concert We Are Stones, under the big top, situates itself at the edge of the world - not at a distance, but precisely where we are. At the rim of the continent, on the horizon, on the threshold of summer, between fragility and strength. Within the dialogue between music and circus arts.
The concert features the world premiere of air an oir (2026), a new work by Scottish composer Lisa Robertson. The composition is commissioned by Silence Festival, the title is in Gaelic and translates as “on the edge.” The piece places the listener at the northern edge of the world, imbued with the presence of northern landscapes and a quiet, persistent resistance of traditional ways of life and cultures, right where we are.
Circus artist Noémie Deumié embodies the dramaturgy of the concert. The interplay of tension and release draws the audience into a shared, immersive experience. The unifying nature of the circus tent gets new meanings as a concert hall.
We Are Stones is a singular multidisciplinary concert, performed only once. Time unfolds so slowly that permanence becomes perceptible, yet so inevitably that nothing remains unchanged. This evening concert under the big top brings together the traditions of circus and music with the radical freshness of contemporary art. The programme is built from monumental works of new music alongside a new premiere.
